Hidden River Festival returns on 15th September

The Hidden River Festival is back with a bang with a free, vibrant day of live music, art, crafts, food and events for the whole family.

The 6th annual festival celebrating the Hidden River running through Hackney and Haringey returns Saturday 15th September from 12:00pm to 6:00pm, outside the Redmond Community Centre, N4 2HF, to the Woodberry Wetlands along the New River Path.

Built over 400 years ago, the New River, was an engineering feat of its time. Dug by hand, it is still in use today, bringing Londoners fresh drinking water from springs in Hertfordshire. Visitors can walk nearly its entire length thanks to the New River Path which provides a unique green oasis in this area teeming with wildlife and beautiful vistas for the public to explore and enjoy.

Nestled beside the East and West Reservoirs at Woodberry Down, the New River creates a stunning backdrop for the festival. The day’s events, including live music, a participatory community art workshop, canoeing down the New River, and silent disco, all winding along landscaped paths and a modern kids’ playground. If you fancy a family-focused day surrounded by nature and an intimate, community vibe, this is the festival for you.

Organised by the regeneration partnership at Woodberry Down including Manor House Development Trust, the Woodberry Down Community Organisation, the London Borough of Hackney, Notting Hill Genesis and Berkeley Homes and involving local volunteers, the festival is attended by hundreds of Woodberry Down residents, with visitors from other areas of London bringing the total attendance to over 3,500 people each year.

Confirmed performers: Zkeletonz (punk, rock band), WondRWomN, Keedah & Ganjy, Phoebe Coco, Pandora’s Diary, Dress Up Comedy, Astrid Brook, London Community Orchestra, and many more.

An array of food and drink stalls will be on site, including healthy and vegan options.
