Survival Techniques at Atom Gallery

0

‘Survival Techniques’, an exhibition of paintings and screenprints of positive and uplifting statements and actions that have helped people feeling sad, depressed or lonely, comes to specialist print gallery ATOM from 7th October. Designer Naomi Edmondson began her ‘Survival Techniques’ project almost 2 years ago after a period of feeling low. It began as a legal street art project that aimed to promote hope and optimism and bring a little light to people having a dark day.
After finding that friends found similar ‘Survival Techniques’ worked for them, Naomi began to think about ways of sharing the list, and after seeing a local street artist at work in East London, she decided that the street would be the best, most democratic place to share them.

The exhibition, which runs for three weeks, is Naomi’s first solo exhibition and will show both original paintings and limited edition screenprints of her work. The exhibition coincides with World Mental Health Day on Tuesday October 10th, and 10% of all money raised by the exhibition will go to the Rethink Mental Illness charity. Atom Gallery specialises in limited edition prints of all kinds and has a growing reputation for interesting exhibitions and promoting emerging artists.
ATOM founder Mark Perronet is a former professional photographer-turned professional producer of exhibition-quality screen and giclee prints, as well as an artist and printmaker in his own right. His new partner in the gallery is Richard Pendry, who produces illustrations and screenprints under his own name as well as the imprint BeyondThrilled.
