The Assembly Market is returning with a new showcase of some of the best slow and ethical designers and makers working in fashion, interiors and print and assembled together by Jannine Newman founder of Hackney based loungewear company Under The Cloth.
After the response to the first The Assembly Market in November 2018 the event is back by popular demand from both customers and sellers. Jannine says ‘We didn’t know what to expect with our first event, the doors opened on Saturday at 11.00am and people did not stop pouring through the door for the entire weekend. The feedback was amazing and people loved it! Visitors were thrilled to meet new brands some of whom had only previously sold online; Pajotten particularly, a family run brand from Kent, were a sensation, having also built the most wonderful display.
All the designers showing at The Assembly Market have a beautiful aesthetic and a commitment to making sustainably; the ethos is very much, buy less and buy better’. This year, the line up is equally as impressive, and really exciting news is that Hub Shop, will be at the Assembly with ‘Allsea’, their own in house label.
There will be something for everyone; stunning leather bags, gorgeous linen clothing from Rutland, exquisite dresses from London, mid century inspired artwork and prints, terrariums and botanicals, select vintage homewares, childrenswear, jewellery and bags. It will be an opportunity to come and meet some fabulous brands, from fashion designers Justine Tabak and www.pajotten.com to printmakers www.heraldblack.co.uk and childrenswear designer www.montyandco.com. Importantly, there is also a changing room so you can try before you buy.
Everyone is welcome and there will be coffee and cake and a sit down area which was hugely popular at the last market with sellers and customers. This event is about building a dialogue between designers and customers, and this really is one of the most feel good markets you will find. ‘
